MAPPING CONFERENCE 2022: MAJLIS PERASMIAN | 11 OKTOBER 2022

The Association of Certified Land Surveyors of Malaysia (PEJUTA) in collaboration with the Department of Survey and Mapping Malaysia (JUPEM), the Board of Land Surveyors (LJT) and Asean Flag has for the first time organized a seminar session which is the Mapping Conference 2022 on 11 and 12 October 2022 at Shangri Hotel -La, Kuala Lumpur.

The inauguration of this seminar was completed by YBrs. Sr Mohammad Zaki bin Mohd Ghazali, Director General of Surveying and Mapping Malaysia who is also the Chairman of the Board of Land Surveyors accompanied by Sr Dr. Haji Noordin bin Abdullah, President of PEJUTA.

With the theme of "Mapping The Nation", this seminar has attracted the interest of nearly 300 participants from Surveyors, Engineers, Urban Planners, Local Authorities, Government Agencies and graduates to attend the 2-day seminar session. The seminar session this time focused on Mapping and geospatial activities such as Spatial Information Management, Spatial Data Infrastructure, Utility Mapping, Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) Technology, Hydrography, 3D Modeling and others.

This seminar session has also received a favorable response where representatives from Southeast Asian countries such as Indonesia, Thailand, Brunei, Vietnam and Singapore also attended this seminar.

In the same session, YBrs. Sr Mohammad Zaki bin Mohd Ghazali, Director General of Surveying and Mapping Malaysia also delivered a keynote speech entitled Overview: Amendment of the Licensed Land Surveyor Act (JTB) 1958. Among the main points delivered by YBrs. KPUP is an amendment to this act implemented with the aim of amending several acts and matters involving methods and activities of measurement, Mapping and Geospatial in line with current technological developments. In addition, he also called for the Certified Land Surveyor (JTB) to focus on expanding the scope and duties of the Surveyor based on new measurement technology. Also delivering the keynote session was the Honorable Datuk Seri Panglima Sr Haji Safar bin Untong, Chief Secretary of Sabah State.

The seminar this time was also attended by almost 20 Surveying, Mapping and Geospatial companies for the exhibition session which also lasted for 2 days, where JUPEM was also present at the exhibition.
