INFORMAL TECHNICAL DISCUSSION OF THE COMMON BORDER DATUM REFERENCE FRAME (CBDRF) PROJECT AS PART OF THE ACTION PLAN TOWARD THE RESOLUTION OF THE OUTSTANDING BOUNDARY PROBLEMS (OBP) OF THE INTERNATIONAL BOUNDARY BETWEEN MALAYSIA (SABAH) AND INDONESIA (KALIMANTAN UTARA) | 29-30 NOVEMBER 2022

An Informal Technical Discussion of the Common Border Datum Reference Frame (CBDRF) Project as Part of the Action Plan Toward the Resolution of the Outstanding Boundary Problems (OBP) of the International Boundary between Malaysia (Sabah) and Indonesia (North Kalimantan) was held on 29-30 November 2022 located at JUPEM Headquarters, Kuala Lumpur. This discussion is the second time it has been held physically this year to help resolve the matter of determining the border between the two countries.

The Malaysian side is led by Sr. Dr. Ahmad Sanusi bin Che Cob, Director of Divisional Surveying (Geodetic Surveying), while on the Indonesian side, led by Ibu Astrit Rimayanti, Head of National Boundary Mapping, Regional Boundary Mapping Center, Geospatial Information Agency. Also present in this discussion were Sr. Zuhairy bin Ibrahim as Chairman of CBDRF Malaysia, and Mr. Eko Artanto as Chairman of CBDRF Indonesia. A total of eight Indonesian delegates attended this technical discussion session.

The meeting this time was also enlivened with a dinner on 29 November 2022 which was attended by YBrs Sr Mohammad Zaki Bin Mohd Ghazali (Director General of Surveying and Mapping Malaysia), YBrs Sr Wan Mohamad Darani Bin Ab. Rahman (Deputy Director General of Surveying and Mapping I), YBrs Sr Hazri Bin Hassan (Deputy Director General of Surveying and Mapping II), Sr Dr. Ahmad Sanusi bin Che Cob (Divisional Survey Director (Geodetic Survey)), Sr Muhammad Salim Bin Mohammed Asari (Divisional Survey Director (Cadastre)), Sr Azlim Khan Bin Abdul Raof Khan (Pahang State Survey and Mapping Director), and Sr Powzy Bin Mohd Som (Deputy Director of Survey Division (Demarcation Affairs)).

The dinner ceremony was also attended by First Admiral Idham Facha, Head of Technical Joint Working Group (JWG) Outstanding Boundary Problem (OBP) Indonesia.
