GRAVITY METER EQUIPMENT AND GRAVITY DATA MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (GDMS) DEMONSTRATION SESSION UNDER JUPEM T36/2019 PROJECT
KUALA LUMPUR, November 24 - A demonstration session of the Gravity Meter equipment and Gravity Data Management System (GSMD) was conducted by Gravity and Astronomy Section, Geodetic Survey Division located at the CAMS Building and on the 7th Floor, Bangunan Ukur, JUPEM Headquarters. This demonstration session was led to show the method of measuring gravity data by using Scintrex CG-6 Gravity Meter equipment as well as gravity data processing through Gravity Data Management System (GDMS). The main purpose of gravity observations is to calculate the orthometric corrections to determine precision leveling networks and to calculate local geoids and generate gravimetric geoid models.
The procurement of 2 units of Gravity Meters is crucial to the Department in carrying out gravity measurement throughout the country to obtain dense distribution of gravity stations. Measurements are also carried out according to the classes namely First, Second and Third Order which referring to the degree of accuracy of the measurement.
