SESSION OF SIGNING OF MoU 1 AND MoU 2 FOR THE BORDER OF SELANGOR - WP KUALA LUMPUR AND SELANGOR - WP PUTRAJAYA

SHAH ALAM, 13 June 2022 - The Department of Survey and Mapping Malaysia (JUPEM) has been invited to attend the Selangor - WP Kuala Lumpur border MoU Signing Session (MoU 2 - Boundary Marking and Measurement Plan) with an estimated distance of 108.1km and the boundary MoU for Selangor - WP Putrajaya (MoU 1 - Agreed to Accept the Existing Boundary Measurement with an estimated distance of 14.1km & MoU 2 - Plan to Mark and Measure the Boundary with an estimated distance of 29.7km) was held at the Selangor Chief Minister's Office, Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Building, Shah Alam this morning.
The demarcation MoU document was signed by YAB Dato 'Seri Amirudin bin Shari, Menteri Besar of Selangor in the presence of YBrs. Sr Mohammad Zaki bin Mohd Ghazali, Director General of Survey and Mapping Malaysia and YBrs. Yusri bin Zakariah, Director of Land and Mines Selangor. Also present at the ceremony this morning were YBrs. Sr Hamdan bin Ab Aziz, Director of Survey, Border Affairs Division, YBrs. Sr Bernard Sia Siew Fang, Director of Survey and Mapping of the State of Selangor and Sr Nawi binti Hj. Abdullah, Director of Survey Section (State Boundaries and Coordination), Boundary Affairs Division.
The signing session of the demarcation MoU was held separately and will be followed by the signing session of the demarcation MoU from the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur and the Federal Territory of Putrajaya which will be signed by the Chief Secretary to the Government (KSN) witnessed by the Secretary General of the Ministry of Federal Territories in future.
The MoU signing session is very important for JUPEM to start the marking and measurement work in the field to determine the actual position of the border between the states before it is gazetted.
